Golden Hour Pool Terrace & Lounge

Some gardens are designed for parties. This one is designed for the hour before sunset. The clear-water rectangular pool is the centrepiece, with four in-water lounge chairs set along its edge and small side tables within arm's reach, so the water itself becomes the seating area.

Along the deck we arranged two rows of sun loungers, enough for family and guests without the space ever feeling crowded. The two-storey villa behind, all white surfaces and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass, opens straight onto the terrace, and the upper balcony with its glass railing looks down over the water.

Privacy is handled by planting rather than fencing. A green wall of lush tropical foliage wraps the boundary, palms rise behind the loungers, and a strip of manicured lawn balances the hardscape. The result reads more like a boutique resort than a back garden, calm, warm and ready for the golden hour it was drawn around.
